Award of contract for the 1993 Signalization Improvements, Project No. 93-870.
Background
This project is part of the 1993 Capital Improvement Program adopted by the City
Commission in March, 1993. Several new and existing system improvements are
provided with this project as follow:
1. New, fully-actuated signalization system at Ohio and Republic including
left turn lane on Republic.
2. Modify existing signal system at Crawford and Santa Fe to provide protected
left turn phase on Crawford.
3. Modify existing signal system at Crawford and Ohio to provide pedestrian
controls including the necessary sidewalk ramps.
4. Modify existing signal systems at Fifth and Ash, Fifth and Iron to
accommodate conversion from one-way to two-way traffic between Ash and Iron.
Bids were received for this project on Tuesday, August 17, 1993 at 10:00 a.m. as
follow:

The Engineer's estimate for the project is $155,950.00 The 1993 Capital
Improvement Program budget allocates $150,000 in general obligation bond funding
for this project.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission award the contract for the 1993
Signalization Improvements, Project No. 93-870, to B & W Electrical Contractors,
Inc., in the amount of $146,010.00
