Set date to receive bids for construct]on of a storage building to be located at the
Municipal Golf Course.
BACKGROUND:
On April 12, the City Conunission approved the construct]on and operat]on of a
building to house privately owned golf carts. Staff had explored pr~vatizat]on of
cart operations and determined the City could operate a new facility at the same
rates as offered this past year and less than proposals received from commercial
vendors.
One half of the current 60'x100' storage building is used for private carts while
the other half is used for cold storage of course equipment and materials. Funds
were identified in 1993 to construct and replace the course storage facility. After
reviewing all construction costs, it is staffs recommendation to construct one
facility rather than two separate buildings. It is est]mated the cost of this project
to be approximately $60,000. Construct]on costs of the cart storage area would
be amortized over 10 years with fees generated from annual rental agreements
and the cold storage portion from general Golf Course Capital Improvements.
RECOMMENDATION:
Set the date.of September 14 at 10:00 a.m. as date and time to receive bids for
the construct]on of a new cart/cold storage facility for the Municipal Golf Course.
