Background
This project involves the replacement of the existing roof system on the
Bicentennial Center Arena building. The building was constructed in 1978. The
existing roof system is the original built up felt roof with a gravel surface
over rigid insulation on the metal deck. The existing system has exceeded its
useful life. Leaks are becoming more commonplace in the building and
maintenance costs continue to rise.
The proposed roof replacement system was designed by DMA Architects {Don Marrs)
of Salina. The system includes new deck insulation, new flashing and a single
ply membrane {EPDM) roofing material. The roofing material will carry a 20-year
warranty.
This project is included in the 1993 capital
Bicentennial Center Fund in the amount of $100,000.
