Resolution authorizing installation of stop signs at intersection of Penn and
Oohnstown.
Background
Acting on the request of a concerned citizen, the Engineering Department
recently investigated the use for additional traffic control at the intersection
of Penn and Johnstown, The intersection is currently unregulated.
Based upon existing sight obstructions, accident experience and proximity to a
school zone, it is our recommendation that stop signs be installed on Penn
Avenue at Johnstown Avenue (making Johnstown a through street). This action is
consistent with the state traffic ordinance and the Manual on Uniform Traffic
Control Devices (MUTCD).
RECOI~ENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the resolution authorizing
installation of stop signs on Penn Avenue at Johnstown Avenue.
