A RESOLUTION directing and ordering a public hearing on the
advisability of curbing, guttering, paving and grading improvements in a certain
district and giving notice of such hearing.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
That a public hearing shall be held by the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Salina, Kansas, on the advisability of the following improvements:
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading THIRD STREET
from the north line of Pacific Avenue to the south line
of Euclid Avenue.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading HARSH AVENUE
from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west
line of Third Street.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading OTIS AVENUE
from the east line Fourth Street to the west line
of Third Street.
on the 15th day of August, 1983, at 4:00 o'clock p.m., in the City Commission
Meeting Room, City -County Building, as provided by K.S.A. 12-6a01 to 12-6a18.
The City Clerk shall publish the following notice of such hearing in
the official city newspaper in the manner provided by law.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ADVISABILITY OF
CERTAIN CURBING, GUTTERING, PAVING AND GRADING IMPROVEMENTS
NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas, will meet for the purpose of holding a public hearing as
provided by K.S.A. 12-6a01 to 12-6a18, in the City Commission Meeting Room,
City -County Building, on the 15th day of August, 1983, at 4:00 -o'clock p.m. to
consider the advisability of the following improvements:
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading THIRD STREET
from the north line of Pacific Avenue to the south line
of Euclid Avenue.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading HARSH AVENUE
from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west
line of Third Street.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading OTIS AVENUE
from the east line Fourth Street to the west line
of Third Street.
The extent or boundaries of the proposed improvement district to be
assessed is:
That part of the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, desribed as
follows, to -wit:

of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $401,235.00.
The proposed apportionment of cost between the improvement district
and the City -at -large is as follows:
1. Costs chargeable to private property in the amount of
$401,235.00.
2. No costs chargeable to the City -at -large.
The assessment, with accrued interest, to be levied as a special
assessment tax upon the property included within the benefit district concurrent
with the general property tax and shall be payable in ten (10) equal annual
installments.
The method of assessment shall be based on theadjusted front footage
of each lot of land and without regard to buildings or improvements of the
land.
The hearing may be adjourned from time to time until the Board of
Commissioners shall have made findings by Resolution as to the advisability of
the improvement district, the method of assessment and the apportionment of the
cost between the district and the City -at -large, all as finally determined by
the Board of Commissioners, provided, the area of the improvement district may
be less than, but shall not exceed the area proposed to be assessed as stated in
this notice without giving notice and holding a new hearing on the improvement.
All persons desiring to be heard with reference to the proposed improvement will
be heard at this meeting.
