88-3978 EMS FeesKuhn -c. fl 11 — Sal—, Kansas (Published in The Salina Journal June 1� , 1988) RESOLUTION NUMBER 88-3978 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A FEE STRUCTURE FOR USE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE AMBULANCE SERVICES TO BE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1988. WHEREAS, pursuant to Interlocal Agreement dated December 14, 1982, between the City of Salina, Kansas, hereinafter referred to as the "City", and Saline County, Kansas, hereinafter referred to as the "County" all aspects of administration. of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) have been delegated to the City; and, WHEREAS, such Interlocal Agreement expressly states that the purpose of the agreement is to provide for emergency medical services for the residents of the City and County in the most efficient and economical manner; and, WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Governing Body of the City to establish reasonable fees for Emergency Medical Service ambulance services, SO NOW, THEREFORE Kansas: BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Section 1. The following fee structure is hereby established for Emergency Medical Service ambulance services to be effective July 1, 1988: Inside County Fee $125.00 All emergency and non -emergency runs and transports inside the boundaries of Saline County Interlocal Hospital Transfer .................. 60.00 Transporting a patient, non -emergency, between the two Salina hospitals for diagnostic tests and returning the patient to the original hospital Round-trip Transport Inside the County ........ 160.00 Patient transported between a Saline County residence of health care facility and a Salina hospital, then returned to place of origin (maximum 30 -minute waiting period between trips) Treatment/ No Transport Inside County ........ 75.00 Patient is given immediate treatment but not transported Outside of County Fee 125.00 plus mileage All emergency and non -emergency transports outside Saline County boundaries Round-trip Transport Outside the County ..... 250.00 plus mileage Patient transported between a local health care facility and one outside the county and then returned to the place of origin (maximum 30 -minute waiting period between trips) Treatment/No Transport Outside the County ... 125.00 .,Patient outside Saline County boundaries given immediate treatment but not transported Kinn -Cox Priming — Salina, Kansas 1 1 1 Basic Stand-by Charge� ..... ...... 23.00/hr Type 11 ambulance with two MICT/EMT's standing by at the activity Waiting Time ... ............ .... 60.00/hr ..... .. ....... Section 2. There shall be no additional charges made for equipment, supplies,_ procedures used or for number of City Personnel involved in the I treatment of patients, with the exception of the charge for advanced life support l outlined in Section 1 above. Section 3. Each patient treated and/or .transported shall be charged individually. Section 4. Any person who knowingly initiates a false call shall be charged for an inside the county response. Section 5. There shall _ be no charges under the following circumstances: a. When treatment and transportation are refused. b. A false call which is found to be an honest mistake. C. Treatment and transportation of City or County employees who become ill or injured while at work. d. Treatment and transportation of persons incarcerated at the Saline County Jail. Section 6. Current charges for use of Emergency Medical Service ambulance services shall remain in effect until July 1, 1988. Section 7.
