RESOLUTION NUMBER 88-3956
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING CERTAIN CHARGES FOR THE
OPERATION OF AND SALE OF LOTS IN THE GYPSUM HILL CEMETERY,
AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 81-3573 AND REPEALING THE EXISTING
RESOLUTION.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the following charges are hereby established in
regards to the operation of Gypsum Hill Cemetery, to -wit:
(A) Opening and closing for regular interment shall be One
Hundred Sixty-five Dollars ($165) for weekdays and
Two Hundred Ten Dollars ($210) for Saturdays,
Sundays, Holidays, and weekdays after 4:30 p.m.
(B) Opening and closing for baby and youth interment,
including lot, shall be in accordance with the container
size as follows:
3 feet, or less, in length $40
3 feet to 4 feet in length $50
4 feet to 5 feet in length $65
In addition to the above charge, an additional charge of.
50% shall be added for Saturdays, Sundays and
Holidays.
Section 2. That the charge for cremation burials shall be Seventy-five
Dollars ($75) .
Section 3. That any person desiring to erect a marker in said
cemetery shall secure a permit therefor, and the fee shall be Ten Dollars ($10) .
Section 4. That the burial lots in Gypsum Hill Cemetery shall be sold
for the sum, of Two Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($225) per space, which sum
shall include perpetual care for said space.
Section 5. That the charge for a lot and grave opening and closing
for a burial paid for through assistance from the State of Kansas shall be equal
to: the amount allowed by State regulations, but not less than Two Hundred Fifty
Dollars ($250). ..
Section 6. That Title transfer of cemetery ownership shall be Ten
Dollars ($10).'
Section 7. That one-third of all the proceeds obtained from the sale
of lots in Gypsum Hill Cemetery shall be made a part of the trust fund created
by Ordinance Number' 3430 of the City of Salina, Kansas, and said funds,
together with accumulated interest thereon, shall be maintained in said trust
fund for a period of at least ten years.

Section 8. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and ordered to
establish adequate rules and regulations to uphold this Resolution and to make
adjustment in the fees in exceptional cases.
Section 9. That all adult burials shall have an outside container of
I concrete or steel.
Section 10. That Resolution Number 81-3573 is hereby repealed.
Section 11. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication once in the official newspaper.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
8th day of February, 1988.
