4.3 National AMBUCS MonthWHEREAS The recognition of AMBUCS (American Business Club) as an
organization making an important difference in communities across
the United States is a noteworthy event; and
WHEREAS The Salina Morning chapter, The Red Baron Chapter, The
Heartland Chapter and The Noon Network Chapter of AMBUCS are
members of National AMBUCS now celebrating 70 years of service;
and
WHEREAS AMBUCS displays a proud record of providing scholarships for
training young people as therapists for the functionally
handicapped; and
WHEREAS Salina is proud to boast of four Chapters of AMBUCS -- The
Salina Morning Club, The Red Baron Noon Club, The Heartland
Evening Club and The Noon Network Club; and
WHEREAS Each of the Chapters has various community projects in which to
participate, such as: Time out for Parents, the Infant Stim
Program, Funding for OCCK and Scholarships for local student
becoming therapists in addition to helping locally handicapped
persons; SO NOW, THEREFORE
I, Carol E. Beggs, Mayor of the City of Salina, Kansas, do hereby
proclaim the Month of February 1993, as
NATIONAL AMBUCS MONTH
in Salina and urge all citizens to become more aware of the
altruistic service and the wholesome upbuilding of communities
they render.
