Consider annexation of the Flying J Travel Plaza property located
at the southeast corner of 1-70 and Ohio Street.
Background
On June 24, 1994, in consideration of granting permission to
connect to city water and sewer lines, Flying J Inc., executed a
written agreement consenting to the annexation of their property
into the City of Salina.
On August 9, 1994, pursuant to a request from the City Commission,
the Saline County Board of County Commissioners found and
determined that the annexation of the subject land would not
hinder or prevent the proper growth and development of the area or
that of any other incorporated city located in Saline County.
Recommended Action
Adopt the attached ordinance annexing Lot One (1), Block One (1),
Flying J Subdivision, Saline County, Kansas into the city limits
of the City of Salina.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF LOT ONE
(1), BLOCK ONE (1), FLYING J SUBDIVISION IN SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS,
IN CONFORMITY WITH 'THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-519 to 12-526,
INCLUSIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the following described land, to-wit:
Lot One (]), Block One (1), Flying J Subdivision, Saline
County, Kansas
meeting one or more of the classifications for annexation prescribed by K.S.A.
12-519 to 12-526, inclusive, is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of
Salina, Kansas.
Section 2. That the tract of land described in Section 1 above shall
be zoned C-7, Highway Commercial District upon annexation into the city.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
