Approve the Broadway Boulevard Overlay, Project No. 94-918 and
authorize the bid date.
Background
The final project of the 1994 Street Maintenance Program is the
Broadway Boulevard Overlay Project from Republic Avenue to Cloud
Street. This section of major arterial street began to show
serious distress during the 1993 flooding season and the following
winter season. The last maintenance activity for this pavement
occurred in 1982.
The proposed project will involve milling the existing asphalt
surface and overlaying with new asphalt. This work probably will
not be commenced until early 1995. Requesting bids at this time of
the year, however, should yield competitive prices.
RECOS~ENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the Broadway
Boulevard Overlay, Project No. 94-918 and authorize staff to set a
date to receive bids.
