Change Order No. 2 for 1994 Subdivision Improvements, Phase II,
Project No. 94-898B.
Background
The project involves utility system (water and sanitary sewer)
improvements in four (4) different subdivisions and two city
utility improvements throughout Salina. The City Co~¢gdLission
approved the contract on May 16, 1994.
The contractor, Smoky Hill, LLC completed the project in accordance
with the plans and specifications and ahead of schedule. Before
the contract can be completed, a change order is necessary to
correct the final quantities of contract items to reflect the
actual amounts installed. It is normal in a project of this scope
to slightly over or under estimate the amounts of bid items
actually needed. In this case, the contract overrun of current bid
items is $488.43 or 0.3% of the original contract amount of
$168,929.85.
Also included in this change order are three new items for
miscellaneous additional contract items necessary for the
completion of the improvements in the subdivisions. Each item has
been reviewed by the City Engineer and negotiated with the
contractor. The total additional cost of these items is $2,712.00.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission approve Change Order No.
1 for the 1994 Subdivision Improvements,Phase II, Project No. 94-
898B, in the amount of $3,200.43.

THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 7th day of November ,
1994, by and between the CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, Owner, and the above
named Contractor, modifies the existing contract dated May 16, 1994 ,
under the above subject, project and project number in the following
particulars to wit:
1. The specifications and drawings for certain street improvements in
the City of Salina, Kansas, dated .April - . 1994 . , are hereby
amended in the following particulars only; all other terms and
conditions remain unchanged.

2. The undersigned proposes to furnish all tools, appliances, equipment,
materials, and labor required to complete the construction in a thorough,
workmanlike, and satisfactory manner in accordance with the drawings,
specifications, and contract documents, for the following prices:
