Award the contract for the 1994 Concrete Pavement Improvements,
Project No. 94-911.

This- project involves the repair or replacement of existing
concrete pavements and curbs end,utters throughout the city. This
work includes large sections of pavement and long portions of curb
end,utter systems which lend themselves to contract maintenance as
opposed to in-house services.
The project will include curb and ~utter improvements on South
Fourth Street and Cloud Street near Kansas Wesleyan University,
concrete pavement repairs on Quincy Street between Jewell and Cloud
Streets as well as a number of other areas established by the
Engineering and General Services staff and citizen input.
Bids were received for this project on Tuesday, August 9, 1994 as
follow:

The Engineer's estimate is $95,652.00. The 1994 budget currently
has a sufficient balance in the gas tax fund to finance this
project.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission award the contract for
the 1994 Concrete Pavement Improvements, Project No. 94-911, to
Pavers, Inc. in the amount of $93,959.00.
