Information
During recent years the City of Salina has implemented a program for the
repair or removal of dangerous structures. State of Kansas Statutes
provide the authority and prescribe the required timetable and methods.
The first step is for the Building Official to file a written statement
with the City Commission that certain structures are dangerous and need
to be repaired or removed.
The Co~ission then by resolution sets a date for a public hearing. At
this hearing both the Building Official and the owners (and other
interested parties) present evidence as to the condition of the
structures. If the Co~ission finds the structures dangerous, it can
order them repaired or removed.
Attached is a list of 10 properties, which the Building Official has
found to have deficiencies which makes them unsafe or dangerous.
The proposed timetable is as follows=
1. August 1, 1994= Adopt resolution for Dangerous Structures
Public Hearing.
2. August 5, 1994= Publish resolution.
